Translate this article:

Material tests
- Softening point
- Penetration
- Filler content
- Sag and flow tests
Applied coating tests
- Thickness
- Holiday (spark) testing
- Adhesion / peel
- Impact resistance

Purpose of testing
Tests confirm that coating materials meet specification and that the applied coating protects the pipe as designed.
Common tests in more detail
- Softening point shows resistance to flow at service temperature.
- Penetration indicates hardness.
- Sag test checks that hot enamel does not run on a vertical panel.
- Holiday test uses a high-voltage spark to detect pinholes.
- Peel test measures adhesion to steel.
- Impact test checks resistance to handling damage.
Acceptance
Every coating specification sets limits for each test. Record results with batch numbers for traceability.
