Estimating Sealer Coverage
Translate this article:

Coverage depends on surface texture and age.
| Surface | Approx. coverage per coat |
|---|---|
| Smooth, newer asphalt | 0.2–0.3 L/m² |
| Average aged asphalt | 0.3–0.4 L/m² |
| Rough, porous asphalt | 0.4–0.6 L/m² |
Always follow the product data sheet.
How to estimate quantity
- Measure the area in square metres (length × width).
- Choose coverage rate from the table above according to surface condition.
- Multiply area × coverage × number of coats.
- Add 5–10 % for waste and edges.
Example
A 1,000 m² car park with average aged asphalt, two coats at 0.35 L/m²:
1,000 × 0.35 × 2 = 700 L, plus 10 % = about 770 L.

Factors that increase consumption
- Very porous or rough surfaces
- Hot, dry weather causing faster absorption
- Spray application with overspray
Always check the specific product data sheet and test a small area first.
