Black in thick films, brown in thin films.

Aromatic solvents, many aliphatics, and hot oils.

Yes, through emulsions.
Does it improve corrosion resistance?
It improves barrier properties as part of a complete system.
Which grade should I use?
Low-ash paint grade or micronized grade.

Bituminous materials can bleed into light-coloured topcoats. Use a barrier coat or aluminium paint first.

From 10 % to over 50 % of binder solids depending on the product.
Can I add gilsonite to an existing paint?
Only after compatibility testing; it is best introduced as a pre-dissolved varnish.
